How It Works

How DPP-Ready Tagging Works — From Product to Consumer

A five-step flow from product creation to the moment a consumer scans the tag. JPXGLOBAL produces Step 3 — the physical identifier layer.

01

Product Created

Your brand designs a product that needs a digital identity at the unit level.

02

Unique ID Assigned

Your DPP software or team generates a unique identifier for each unit.

03

Physical Tag Produced

JPXGLOBAL prints the serialised QR, NFC or barcode tag — one unique identifier per unit.

04

DPP Record Published

Your DPP platform publishes the digital record. The physical tag links to it.

05

Consumer Scans or Taps

A buyer scans the QR or taps the NFC tag — the DPP record opens on their device.

Steps 1, 2, 4 and 5 are managed by your team or DPP software partner. JPXGLOBAL produces and delivers Step 3.

What Is a Digital Product Passport?

What Is a Digital Product Passport?

A Digital Product Passport (DPP) is a structured digital record linked to a physical product — carrying information about its materials, origin, care, authenticity and lifecycle data. The physical identifier on the product (a QR code, NFC chip or barcode) is the access point for that record.

Digital Product Passport requirements are being phased in under the EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (EU ESPR), with textiles and apparel identified among priority sectors. Brands selling into EU markets will need a physical identifier on each product unit that links to the DPP data record.

JPXGLOBAL produces that physical identifier. The DPP data record and software platform are managed by the buyer's team or DPP software partner.

The Process

How a DPP Tagging Project Works

01
Share Your Brief

Tell us about your product, export market and DPP readiness stage. You do not need a live DPP platform before beginning.

02
Format and Data Structure

We discuss the physical format, identifier type and data file structure — aligned to your DPP software partner's technical requirements.

03
Sample Production

For suitable projects, a physical sample including the serialised QR or NFC function can be produced before any full production commitment.

04
Data File Confirmation

You provide the finalised data file from your DPP platform. Identifier format confirmed and validated against the agreed specification.

05
Production and Dispatch

Full production run. Each tag produced with its unique identifier, quality-checked and dispatched. Timelines confirmed during discussion.
